Poem: “Hatshepsut”

chink, chink, chink.
so spoke tenderness.
what I heard held only greed.

chink, chink, chink.
the rape never ends.
plunging dirty hands where they don’t belong.

chink, chink, chink.
my divinity is a Nile,
I will never find its source.

chink, chink, chink.
you learn too late
the magic of being a woman-king.

chink, chink.
light finding air
but not me never me.

chink.
find me now, heretic,
find me
now.
